Job details
About this role
Role overview Build the backend runtime that enables autonomous agents to carry out long-running tasks, preserve state, and coordinate work reliably. The role spans execution architecture, secure isolation, orchestration, and operational tooling for complex agent workflows. This is a full-time remote position.
Responsibilities - Design and implement the execution engine for agents that run over extended periods. - Create isolation mechanisms to protect systems when executing untrusted agent code. - Build high-concurrency orchestration and state management capabilities. - Integrate memory and context retrieval into the runtime in collaboration with research colleagues. - Develop observability and debugging tools for agent workflows.
Requirements - At least five years of backend engineering experience with high-performance systems. - Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript, Go, or Rust. - Strong knowledge of distributed systems, concurrency, and state machine design. - Experience with Docker and runtime isolation technologies. - Background building scalable APIs and microservices for enterprise use. - Ability to solve problems independently in a remote team.
Nice to have - Experience with AI infrastructure or agent frameworks. - Familiarity with vector databases and LLM orchestration tools. - Contributions to open-source infrastructure projects.
