Responsibilities
- Build new product features that meet real client and customer needs. - Continuously ship changes within a full CI/CD delivery model. - Collaborate closely with teammates on engineering initiatives and shared craft goals. - Mentor engineers, supporting their career growth and encouraging progression. - Partner with leads to architect, design, and deliver highly available, zero-downtime products. - Take responsibility for production operations and monitoring in line with defined SLAs. - Promote good practices across the team and contribute to wider engineering quality. - Participate in regular show-and-tells, sharing work with the department and broader company.
Requirements
- Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, Python, and Go, with the ability to pick up new languages quickly. - Experience with modern frameworks across the stack, such as FastAPI, Gin, or Express. - Production experience with React, modern build tools, state management, responsive design, and accessibility standards. - Comprehensive testing experience, including unit, integration, end-to-end, and security testing, plus performance optimisation. - Familiarity with scalable system design patterns, load balancing, and high-availability architectures. - Database design and optimisation across relational and NoSQL stores. - API development across REST, GraphQL, or gRPC, plus event-driven architectures. - Use of caching strategies and message queues such as Redis, Kafka, or RabbitMQ. - Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus containerisation using Docker and Kubernetes. - CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Terraform or CloudFormation. - Monitoring, observability, and performance tuning practices. - Calm debugging under production pressure, with thoughtful use of AI tools to augment impact. - Strong communication skills, able to explain technical ideas in business-friendly language.
