Senior Full-stack Developer (AI-Native)

Role overview

A senior full-stack engineer is needed to join a compact product team building an AI-powered, autonomous accounting platform aimed at very small businesses and the accountants serving them. The role involves owning features end-to-end across backend, data, and customer-facing surfaces, with a strong focus on shipping reliable AI-driven workflows inside a live production product.

Responsibilities

- Develop and refine product experiences used daily by small business owners and accountants - Build backend services and integrations that connect to the systems accounting work depends on - Design and ship reliable AI-powered workflows, including LLM APIs, tool calling, streaming, and agent flows where correctness matters - Improve system reliability and performance while keeping the codebase healthy - Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and domain experts to take ideas from concept to customer

Requirements

- Minimum 6 years of commercial fullstack software development experience - Strong backend skills in Node.js, Express, and TypeScript - Frontend experience with React and Next.js, including SSR, SSG, and App Router patterns - Designing and building REST APIs, with GraphQL as a plus - PostgreSQL data modeling and query optimization - Unit and integration testing using tools such as Jest or Vitest - Hands-on CI/CD and containerization with Docker, plus cloud experience on AWS, GCP, or Azure - Practical LLM experience covering APIs, tool calling, streaming, prompting, or agent workflows - Daily use of AI-native development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude Code, including verifying and refactoring AI-generated code - Self-reliant ownership from analysis through deployment, with the ability to make and justify architectural decisions

Nice to have

- NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Redis - Building AI features like RAG, embeddings, prompt engineering, or agents - End-to-end testing with Playwright or Cypress - Microservices or monorepo experience with Nx or Turborepo - Cloud certifications, ORM familiarity, or applied GenAI inside the SDLC
