Role overview This position supports a large-scale migration from Azure DevOps to GitHub for an international organization operating at the intersection of finance, data, and analytics. The work spans repository and CI/CD pipeline moves across GitHub Enterprise Server and Cloud environments, blending hands-on engineering with direct collaboration alongside development teams.
Responsibilities - Migrate Azure DevOps repositories to GitHub - Convert Azure DevOps pipelines into GitHub Actions workflows - Support repository transfers between GitHub Enterprise Server and GitHub Enterprise Cloud - Remediate GitHub Actions workflows and troubleshoot migration failures - Optimize workflows for reliable, efficient CI/CD - Validate migrated repositories and workflows jointly with engineering teams - Document migration processes, issues, and solutions
Requirements - Strong hands-on experience with Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions - Proven background migrating repositories to GitHub - Experience with GitHub Enterprise Server and/or Cloud - Familiarity with Azure DevOps repositories and pipelines - Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and modern software delivery practices - Strong troubleshooting, communication, and ability to work independently with multiple teams
Nice to have - Prior Azure DevOps to GitHub migration experience - Administering GitHub Enterprise environments - Optimizing complex GitHub Actions workflows - Familiarity with GitHub governance and enterprise best practices - Working in large enterprise or regulated organizations - Practical use of AI-powered assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor to improve productivity - Applying GenAI within the SDLC or exploring agent-based and AI-augmented development patterns
