Backend Developer (0–2 Years Experience)

Role overview

Build the backend services and infrastructure for AI-powered SaaS products that combine automation, CRM, communications, and workflow management. This early-career role covers API development, data modeling, integrations, asynchronous processing, real-time functionality, and secure multi-tenant systems while working closely with frontend, product, and AI engineering colleagues.

Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain REST APIs with Django REST Framework and Next.js API Routes for CRM features, automation, AI workflows, and business processes. - Design PostgreSQL schemas, queries, migrations, caching approaches, and other foundations for reliable, scalable services. - Integrate external platforms and communication providers, including email, messaging, CRM, and outreach services. - Build AI capabilities using large-language-model APIs and embeddings, and create asynchronous workflows with Celery, Redis, and background queues. - Implement authentication, authorization, secure tenant isolation, WebSockets, and Server-Sent Events for real-time product experiences. - Write tested, maintainable code; investigate production issues; improve performance; and participate in reviews, planning, and architecture discussions.

Requirements

- Strong understanding of Python or JavaScript/TypeScript. - Experience building REST APIs and a sound understanding of SQL and relational databases. - Familiarity with authentication concepts such as JWT, sessions, and OAuth fundamentals. - Understanding of asynchronous programming and background job processing. - Comfort using Git and collaborating through code reviews and shared development workflows. - Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

- Experience with Django, DRF, PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery, Docker, Supabase, Drizzle ORM, pgvector, or other vector databases. - Exposure to OAuth 2.0, cloud services, LLM APIs, WebSockets, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, or pytest.
