Role overview
The position sits within a Global Operations Center that supports teams across the Americas, Europe, and Asia in a collaborative, multicultural environment. The Senior Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain large-scale data pipelines and analytics infrastructure that power advanced reporting and real-time processing for analytics and media stakeholders. The role blends hands-on engineering with architectural leadership, standards enforcement, and cross-regional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize enterprise ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, and serverless technologies, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability. - Build and tune complex Azure T-SQL solutions, applying partitioning, indexing, and query optimization to support analytics models and real-time data processing. - Develop automation frameworks with Python and API orchestration to streamline the data lifecycle and improve operational efficiency. - Own production pipeline reliability through root-cause analysis, critical incident resolution, and long-term stability improvements. - Define and enforce coding and architectural standards through code reviews and technical audits while mentoring engineers and raising delivery quality. - Maintain technical documentation, data lineage, governance, and automated CI/CD deployment practices across data assets. - Partner with regional leadership and analytics teams to translate business requirements into scalable, high-performance technical solutions. - Lead end-to-end pipeline architecture and modernization initiatives involving Azure Databricks, dbt, and advanced DevOps practices. - Monitor SLAs, mitigate technical risks, and support data security and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- 3–4 years of progressive professional experience in data engineering. - Expert-level hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure data services in professional or production environments. - Advanced experience designing, building, orchestrating, monitoring, and troubleshooting production-grade pipelines using Azure Data Factory. - Relevant hands-on experience developing or managing data workloads using Azure Databricks. - Proven experience designing and optimizing large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines, including ADF orchestration and Azure Data Lake Storage. - Strong SQL fundamentals, including joins, aggregations, subqueries, CTEs, window functions, data validation, and query troubleshooting. - Advanced Azure T-SQL and SQL performance-tuning skills, including complex query optimization, partitioning, indexing, and high-volume data processing. - Strong Python and API orchestration skills for developing automation solutions. - Experience with production operations, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, high-availability processing, monitoring, SLA management, and CI/CD automation.
Nice to have
- Experience with one or more of Adverity, Dataflow, BigQuery, dbt, Terraform, Wrike, Jira, or Azure DevOps. - DP-203 and/or GCP Professional Data Engineer certification. - Comfort with live SQL coding assessments during the technical evaluation process.
