Remote job
Lead Full Stack Engineer (Remote NL/UK Based)
Job details
About this role
Role overview
This is a remote role based in the Netherlands or the UK, supporting a SaaS platform that helps IT teams equip and manage distributed workforces. The platform handles hardware delivery, tracking, and retrieval across more than 100 countries and currently serves tens of thousands of users. The position calls for a senior individual contributor who functions as technical leadership: shaping architecture, setting engineering quality, and partnering closely with product and engineering management. AI-assisted development is expected to be the default way of working.
Responsibilities
- Lead feature delivery end-to-end, partnering with product on scope, making architectural calls, deciding what to cut, and owning whether the shipped work actually moved the needle - Default to AI agents and tooling for building, and actively raise the team's fluency with those tools over time - Coach engineers at every level through pairing, code review, scope handovers, and direct feedback that visibly changes how someone works - Identify broken processes and change them without waiting for permission, building the case and demonstrating before/after impact - Act as a thought partner to engineering and product leadership, pushing back on roadmaps and surfacing problems early - Tie shipped work to business outcomes using a metric you chose, tracked, and reported back on
Requirements
- 8+ years building software at product companies inside real cross-functional teams, currently operating at senior, lead, or staff level - Deep technical and architectural foundation with the ability to explain system design choices, tradeoffs, and likely failure modes under load - Strong hands-on fluency with AI development agents and tooling, with clear awareness of where human review is non-negotiable (data, money, auth) - Track record of coaching peers, not only juniors, with a concrete example of a skill someone developed because of you - Demonstrated experience driving a team-level process change and confirming its impact with a metric - Direct, efficient communication style; comfortable with constructive disagreement and actively seeking feedback - Decisive judgment about what not to build, with the willingness to defend the cut
Nice to have
- Background at a fast-growing SaaS or B2B product company - Experience running model evaluations, monitoring inference cost, or handling hallucination and other model failure modes in production - History of being the technical counterpart to product or engineering management on roadmap-level decisions rather than only sprint-level tasks
Benefits and work setup
- Flexible hybrid work environment - Tools and equipment provided - Pension scheme - Corporate fitness membership - Off-sites and recurring team bonding events - Team lunches and surprise events to keep things fun
