Software Architect (PHP/Symfony)

Role overview Shape the technical direction of a high-volume fintech platform that serves payment service providers, e-money institutions, e-commerce operators, and open banking clients. As a Software Architect, you will define standards and lead design decisions across multiple engineering teams while partnering closely with product and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities - Design and evolve the architecture of mission-critical transactional products handling large payment volumes. - Define architectural standards, engineering principles, and best practices adopted across teams. - Lead architectural reviews and validate technical solutions proposed by engineering groups. - Design highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant distributed systems and decomposed service boundaries. - Collaborate on integrations with banking systems, compliance services, and other external platforms. - Identify technical risks, drive modernization initiatives, and reduce architectural debt. - Mentor senior engineers and technical leads on architecture and engineering practice.

Requirements - 8+ years of backend development experience, including substantial work with PHP and Symfony. - Prior role as Software Architect, Solution Architect, Principal Engineer, or Lead Backend Engineer with meaningful architecture responsibility. - Strong understanding of Domain-Driven Design, Event-Driven Architecture, CQRS, and Event Sourcing. - Hands-on experience designing microservice architectures and asynchronous communication patterns. - Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL, Redis, message brokers, and caching strategies. - Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native deployment environments.

Nice to have - Experience with platforms processing millions of transactions. - Background in large-scale platform modernization or migrations. - Defining architecture standards spanning multiple engineering teams.
