PHP Developer with DDD

Role overview A remote-first engineering team building white-label and SaaS platforms for the financial ecosystem is hiring a backend engineer to strengthen its payments product line. The position centers on designing, evolving, and supporting API-driven services that power electronic money institutions, payment service providers, e-commerce integrations, and open banking workflows. The successful candidate will combine hands-on PHP development with domain-driven design thinking to ship reliable, scalable payment infrastructure.

Responsibilities - Design, build, test, document, release, and support backend services and APIs from concept through ongoing production maintenance. - Enhance and refine existing API endpoints, service layers, and backend systems used across the payments product suite. - Integrate third-party providers such as acquirers, gateways, alternative payment methods, tokenization platforms, and customer verification, scoring, monitoring, or reporting tools. - Set up and maintain testing environments, run functional and integration test suites, and debug software defects. - Prepare clear technical documentation for implemented features and architectural decisions. - Support live production software, troubleshoot incidents, and collaborate with frontend developers and cross-functional teammates to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Requirements - Several years of professional PHP experience with strong knowledge of optimization techniques, caching strategies, and asynchronous processing for large-scale web products. - Deep proficiency in the Symfony framework, including designing RESTful APIs and working with Doctrine ORM. - Solid PostgreSQL skills, including schema design, normalization, entity-relationship modeling, and complex query optimization using indexing and execution plans. - Strong object-oriented programming background with practical understanding of SOLID, GRASP, and a broad range of design patterns. - Advanced knowledge of Domain-Driven Design concepts such as Domain Events, Domain Services, and Bounded Contexts, applied to complex business problems. - Working knowledge of CQRS, Event Sourcing, Docker, Kubernetes, and PHP integration testing tools such as PHPUnit, Codeception, or Behat.

Nice to have - Experience designing and deploying microservices, including configuration management, monitoring, and logging. - Familiarity with advanced Jenkins configuration, including parameterization, plugins, and pipeline tooling.
