Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Role overview Build AI-enabled systems that address real client workflows, taking ambiguous problems from discovery through prototype, production use, and ongoing iteration. You will work directly with users and client engineers across multiple workstreams, partnering with an engagement lead and serving as the main technical contact for your assigned work.

Responsibilities - Investigate user workflows and shape problems into practical technical solutions. - Write production code and integrate solutions with client systems. - Build prototypes and take suitable solutions into production or regular operational use. - Define evaluations and guardrails, debug failures, and improve system performance. - Help users adopt what you build and establish feedback loops for continued improvement. - Explain technical decisions and build trust with client engineering teams and technical leaders.

Requirements - Strong software engineering skills and the ability to deliver production-quality code. - Ability to work through ambiguous problems and take ownership of the next responsible step. - Skill in integrating software with real systems and diagnosing failures. - Clear communication with users, client engineers, and technical stakeholders. - Curiosity about unfamiliar workflows and sound technical judgment across multiple workstreams.

Benefits and work setup Full-time, remote-first role based in Portugal, with occasional travel for discovery, build sessions, and important rollouts. Gross annual salary is €38,000–€47,000, plus an annual benefits budget of €15,000–€19,000, including meal allowance. A profit-sharing scheme is also offered; payouts vary with company results and allocation rules.
