Job details
About this role
Role overview Own the shared source control and release engineering foundation used by software and engineering teams. This mid-to-senior DevOps role combines enterprise platform strategy with hands-on administration, CI/CD engineering, and operation of common services for building and releasing software.
Responsibilities - Set standards and a roadmap for enterprise Git platforms, repository governance, branching, access, and code review. - Consolidate repositories and workflows from fragmented or legacy systems onto an approved platform; administer self-hosted and cloud-hosted environments and their identity integrations. - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and reusable templates for building, testing, scanning, and deploying across development, staging, and production. - Operate shared container registry, S3-compatible object storage, and secrets management services, replacing team-specific instances with centrally supported platforms. - Integrate artifact repositories and registries into pipelines, and monitor reliability, performance, and compute costs. - Work with engineering, IT, and security teams to make platform configurations secure, auditable, and production-ready.
Requirements - Active Secret clearance upon hire and ability to maintain it; must meet applicable U.S. Person and export authorization requirements. - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - Typically 10–12 years in DevOps, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering. - Hands-on enterprise administration of both GitLab and GitHub, plus experience building CI/CD pipelines for multiple teams and environments. - Strong scripting skills with Python, PowerShell, and Bash; experience with infrastructure as code and containerized workloads. - Able to communicate across engineering, security, and leadership groups and independently own shared tooling and governance.
Nice to have - Experience leading a large Git platform migration or consolidation. - Experience operating Harbor or a comparable registry, MinIO or equivalent object storage, and Vault or comparable secrets management. - Familiarity with Okta, SSO/SCIM, Active Directory, security scanning, and Prometheus/Grafana or similar monitoring; relevant GitHub or GitLab certifications are preferred.
