Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Role overview Lead the design and evolution of infrastructure for a machine learning platform used in both hosted and customer-managed environments. The role combines cloud and on-premises deployment engineering, reliability and security work, developer enablement, and direct support for enterprise implementations.

Responsibilities - Set infrastructure direction for deployments ranging from individual users to large enterprise organizations. - Build and operate deployment systems across public clouds and on-premises environments, with attention to reliability, security, and repeatability. - Work with customers and internal specialists on installation, production troubleshooting, and scaling deployments. - Improve engineering workflows with internal tools, automation, and CI/CD pipelines. - Maintain hosted Kubernetes deployments and customer installations using Kubernetes or Docker Compose. - Develop monitoring and alerting, diagnose complex system issues, and mentor engineers on infrastructure practices.

Requirements - Deep experience building, packaging, and debugging container images, with Kubernetes and Docker Compose orchestration. - Infrastructure as Code experience, such as Terraform or Ansible, plus scripting and automation skills. - Python expertise covering packaging, environments, releases, dependencies, or related build processes. - Experience with CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, observability, security practices, and distributed-system troubleshooting. - Strong communication skills for collaborating across teams and working directly with enterprise customers. - Testing experience and the ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly.

Nice to have - Familiarity with Helm, GitHub Actions, Google Cloud infrastructure, and MongoDB or another NoSQL database.

Benefits and work setup - Fully remote within the United States, with occasional travel for in-person retreats. - Cash compensation listed as $210,000–$240,000, plus equity options and benefits.
