Job details
About this role
Role overview Build native apps for Apple devices during a 3–6 month internship, contributing to client-facing iPhone and iPad projects and an in-house macOS application. You’ll develop features in Swift and SwiftUI, connect apps to services, and learn how to take work from an initial view through testing and documentation.
Responsibilities - Develop screens and features for iPhone, iPad or Mac using Swift and SwiftUI. - Contribute to a macOS app by adding views, validation steps or clearer error messages. - Connect app interfaces to REST APIs or language model services. - Test in Xcode simulators and on physical devices, and write tests for reliability-critical areas. - Document your work so another developer can maintain and extend it. - Use AI coding tools as part of your workflow and assess when they help.
Requirements - Current studies in computer science, media informatics or a related field. - Some experience building with Swift, such as a small app, course project or SwiftUI experiment. - Familiarity with Xcode and experience running an app on a real device. - Interest in usability and Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines. - Strong German for work on projects serving German-speaking clients.
Nice to have - Experience with Swift concurrency, TestFlight distribution or language model APIs.
Benefits and work setup - Hybrid internship based in Leipzig and from home, starting from 16 November 2026; full-time or adjusted hours can be arranged. - Work on software used by clients and by the team, with a dedicated contact and regular progress check-ins. - Use current AI development tools, including Claude, Claude Code and the Claude API. - A future working-student role or thesis collaboration may be possible, depending on how the internship goes.
