Senior Solutions Architect - Cloud & AI Optimization

Role overview

A senior, customer-facing architecture role centered on FinOps-led cloud and AI cost optimization across large enterprise estates. The position blends deep AWS and data work with executive-level advisory, helping engineering and finance leaders connect architecture decisions to measurable financial outcomes. The work is remote with a global scope, requiring meaningful overlap with Pacific Time business hours.

Responsibilities

- Lead cloud cost optimization programs across large enterprise environments, identifying waste and architectural improvement opportunities. - Design governance frameworks that sustain long-term cloud efficiency and financial accountability. - Analyze cloud usage and spend at scale, building reporting, analytics, and decision-support systems that drive optimization choices. - Run discovery sessions and optimization reviews, presenting recommendations to both technical and business audiences. - Act as a trusted advisor to senior customer stakeholders, partnering with engineering teams to land recommendations. - Guide engineering and data teams, establish best practices around cloud efficiency, and mentor practitioners. - Drive architecture decisions that improve both technical quality and financial performance.

Requirements

- Demonstrable FinOps experience, including leading cost optimization programs with measurable results. - Strong AWS background, including native analytics services such as Athena and cost/usage reporting. - Strong Python and SQL skills, with experience building automation and reporting pipelines. - Customer-facing consulting experience and the ability to communicate technical concepts to executives. - Familiarity with cost governance, allocation, showback/chargeback, Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, rightsizing, and cloud economics. - Data modeling experience, comfort with medallion architecture concepts, and large-scale data analysis.

Nice to have

- Kubernetes and cloud-native platform experience. - Familiarity with LLMs or AI-assisted development in engineering or analytics workflows. - Exposure to regulated industries or mission-critical enterprise estates.
