Product Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview Join an early-stage product team as a hands-on front-end engineer who shapes the parts of the product real users see and touch. The work spans onboarding flows, dashboards, public-facing pages, and in-app screens, with strong ownership of motion, accessibility, and overall polish. You will partner closely with a founder to refine design decisions and run small experiments that move the product forward.
Responsibilities - Build and own the user-facing surfaces of the product, including onboarding, dashboards, landing pages, and core in-app screens. - Translate Figma designs into production interfaces that feel faster and more refined than the static mock-ups. - Collaborate with the founder on design trade-offs, propose alternatives, and iterate toward the best build. - Run lightweight experiments end to end: ship a variant, review the outcome, and decide what to keep. - Hold accessibility, performance, and motion to a high bar across every release.
Requirements - At least four years building production front-ends with React, Next.js, and TypeScript. - A sharp eye for layout, motion, micro-interactions, and details like empty states. - Comfort working on the back end when needed, including small APIs, schema changes, and simple queries. - A habit of shipping keyboard navigation, focus states, and loading skeletons without being asked. - Ability to take a short brief and return a result that improves on it.
Nice to have - Background in consumer products or growth-stage SaaS. - Animation skills with Framer Motion, GSAP, WebGL, or hand-rolled code. - A side project that other people have actually used.
Benefits and work setup - Stack: TypeScript, Next.js, React, Tailwind, Postgres, Vercel, plus an animation library of your choosing.
