About this role

Role overview Build and pilot AI-enabled applications, integrations, and automated workflows that address operational needs across multiple healthcare businesses. This is a hands-on individual contributor position: you will carry selected initiatives from workflow discovery and prototyping through pilot deployment and value evaluation, then work with IT, data, and security partners to prepare approved solutions for broader use.

Responsibilities - Work with operational teams to map workflows, handoffs, exceptions, and data sources, then turn agreed goals into practical technical plans. - Build and maintain applications, backend services, integrations, and data pipelines for structured and unstructured information. - Apply language models, retrieval-augmented generation, structured outputs, and tool calling where they solve defined operational problems. - Evaluate AI and conventional approaches using measures such as quality, latency, cost, maintainability, and operational fit; create datasets and automated tests for models and workflows. - Handle data quality, schema changes, retries, duplicates, and backfills, with traceable lineage and failure handling. - Partner on approved architecture and deployment, and measure pilot adoption, cycle time, manual effort, error rates, and realized value to guide scale decisions.

Requirements - Typically 5–7 years of software engineering experience, including substantial hands-on work building and deploying AI-enabled applications. - Evidence of owning production systems and taking a product or workflow from initial idea through pilot and value validation. - Strong backend development in Python and/or TypeScript, proficiency in SQL, and experience with APIs, services, and database schemas. - Practical understanding of language model APIs, embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation, structured outputs, and tool calling. - Experience designing and operating data pipelines, including processing, orchestration, validation, and monitoring. - A relevant bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field.

Nice to have - An advanced degree.
