Job details
About this role
Role overview This is a hands-on technical leadership role managing a team of Forward Deployed Engineers delivering complex customer deployments of a data security and AI governance platform. The position owns three areas: team growth and performance, delivery across a portfolio of enterprise accounts, and the end-to-end customer experience from first deployment through scaled use. The role stays close to the work by reviewing architecture, guiding technical decisions, supporting escalations, and improving the patterns and tools the team uses to deliver.
Responsibilities - Manage and grow a team of Forward Deployed Engineers, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and career development. - Own delivery across a portfolio of enterprise accounts, including planning, milestones, risks, timelines, and customer outcomes. - Balance team workload and account assignments based on skills, capacity, customer needs, and growth opportunities, while setting a clear operating rhythm for status, risk, and escalations. - Manage customer expectations with executive and technical stakeholders, keeping commitments and delivery aligned. - Review solution architecture, guide complex technical decisions, and help resolve escalations across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments using Kubernetes, containers, and Linux. - Set technical standards, reusable patterns, and playbooks that help the team deliver with quality and consistency, and champion AI-forward automation that improves team speed and quality. - Partner with sales engineering, account executives, product, engineering, customer success, and professional services on pursuits, escalations, roadmap feedback, and customer delivery, and share field learnings back to product and engineering.
Requirements - 8 to 12+ years of experience in technical, customer-facing delivery roles such as forward-deployed engineering, solutions engineering, platform engineering, or technical consulting. - Experience managing engineers or technical delivery teams, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development. - Strong program and delivery management skills, with experience managing multiple customer accounts, timelines, risks, and priorities at once. - Strong communication skills with the ability to set expectations and build trust with executives, business leaders, engineers, and internal teams. - Technical depth in deployment and infrastructure, including Kubernetes, containers, Linux, cloud platforms, and hybrid environments, with the ability to review technical architecture and challenge assumptions. - Experience leading customer escalations with clarity, calm, and accountability, plus a high-ownership mindset. - Working knowledge of data security, privacy, governance, or regulatory topics across enterprise environments, and experience using AI-native tools and modern engineering workflows to improve delivery.
Nice to have - Experience with DSPM, CSPM, or adjacent data and cloud security posture categories. - Background working with enterprise security, privacy, or compliance programs and stakeholders.
Benefits and work setup - Compensation range of $169,920 to $315,600 USD in target total compensation, with a comprehensive benefits package including health coverage, retirement plans, and unlimited time off. - Additional benefits include mental health support, 401(k) with company match, parental leave, fertility and family-building support, virtual veterinary care, legal and identity protection, and tax-advantaged spending accounts. - Learning support through on-demand libraries, mentoring, workshops, and an annual global learning day, plus paid volunteer hours and dedicated well-being days.
