Remote job
AI & Automation Engineering Intern - Summer 2027
Job details
About this role
Role overview A 10-week summer internship on a global Center of Expertise team that tackles the most complex technical challenges for enterprise customers. The intern will spend the summer building, prototyping AI-assisted tools, agents, and workflow automations that help a small, fast-moving team scale its impact. The work is intentionally hands-on and production-oriented: the prototypes created during the program are expected to remain in use after the internship ends.
Responsibilities - Design, prototype, and test AI-driven tools, agents, and workflow automations that reduce manual effort across core team processes. - Partner with team leads to identify repetitive, high-volume work and convert it into automated or AI-assisted solutions. - Build automation around internal feedback loops so information moves faster and more consistently between teams. - Evaluate AI platforms, frameworks, and tooling, and make practical recommendations on where they add real value. - Document and hand off what is built so the team can maintain, extend, and scale it after the program ends. - Present work, results, and recommendations to Center of Expertise leadership at the close of the internship.
Requirements - Rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree, or a graduate student, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field. - Hands-on experience with at least one programming language, with Python preferred, through coursework, personal projects, or prior internships. - Familiarity with AI and large language model concepts, demonstrated through coursework, personal projects, or hackathons. - Comfort working with APIs, scripting, and connecting systems together. - Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Benefits and work setup Paid 10-week program running June through August 2027. Includes paid company holidays, a tech stipend for workspace setup, 8 hours of paid volunteer time, structured personal and professional development sessions, networking events, and access to enterprise-grade software. Hourly pay range of $20 to $25 USD for United States applicants.
