Role overview
Build the platforms, services, and workflows that help engineering teams release software safely and reliably. This role sits close to the path to production, improving deployment automation, release visibility, progressive delivery, and rollback while making common operational tasks more self-service. You will independently deliver well-scoped projects, contribute to technical design, and operate the systems you build.
Responsibilities
- Develop services, automation, and developer tooling that support safe software releases and production deployments. - Build or improve progressive rollout capabilities, including deployment health analysis and automated rollback. - Make releases, configuration, deployment state, and production behavior easier for engineers to understand. - Diagnose recurring reliability, performance, and usability problems and implement durable fixes. - Replace manual or fragmented release processes with reusable workflows and consistent self-service capabilities. - Partner with platform, reliability, security, and product engineering teams on delivery improvements. - Use AI-assisted development and identify practical opportunities for AI-enabled automation in software delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience, plus at least three years of professional software engineering experience. - Experience developing production software with one or more general-purpose programming languages. - Experience designing, testing, deploying, and operating production software or infrastructure. - Background with cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, deployment platforms, developer tooling, or backend services. - Ability to take a well-scoped project from technical design through production operation independently.
Nice to have
- Experience with Kubernetes, AWS, containers, and infrastructure as code. - Knowledge of release automation, internal developer platforms, deployment systems, or developer tooling. - Experience with canary deployments, automated health checks, progressive delivery, and rollback. - Familiarity with GitOps and tools such as Argo CD, Helm, or comparable technologies. - Experience applying AI-assisted development across the software lifecycle or building AI-enabled engineering workflows.
