Full-Stack Software Engineer (Python & React)

Role overview

Develop full-stack applications using Python and Django on the backend and React with TypeScript on the frontend. You will work across API design, GraphQL services, database-backed features, testing, and user interfaces, contributing independently from broad requirements while collaborating on a range of software projects.

Responsibilities

- Build and maintain backend functionality with Python, Django, GraphQL, and typed Python code. - Develop React and TypeScript interfaces using reusable components, accessible HTML, CSS layouts, and practical styling systems. - Design and validate GraphQL schemas and inputs across the application stack. - Write and maintain unit tests with pytest and apply reliable testing practices to production code. - Estimate work, communicate deadlines and concerns, ask clarifying questions, and make sound product decisions from rough specifications. - Share technical lessons and implementation approaches across multiple projects and collaborative engagements.

Requirements

- At least 5 years of professional Python and Django experience. - At least 5 years of frontend experience with React and TypeScript. - Familiarity with SQL, GraphQL, Apollo concepts, schema design, and input validation. - Practical experience with Python 3 typing and pytest or comparable unit-testing workflows. - Understanding of UI components, HTML, CSS layouts, and styling approaches such as Tailwind or Tachyons. - Excellent communication, self-sufficiency, initiative, and availability for at least four hours of overlap with the 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. US Mountain time window.

Nice to have

- Freelance experience delivering projects, managing estimates or budgets, and working with non-technical clients. - React Native, Vue.js, Shopify, or cloud experience with DigitalOcean, AWS, Vercel, or Heroku. - Ability to contribute from incomplete requirements and explain clearly which parts of a project you owned.
