Backend Engineer (Node.js)

Role overview

This role develops the server-side systems powering a warranty management platform for e-commerce brands. The engineer builds scalable services, APIs, and integrations that support extended warranties, product registrations, claims automation, and analytics, working as part of a remote-first engineering team.

Responsibilities

- Design and build backend services and APIs using Node.js - Work with relational databases, message queues, and caching layers to deliver reliable, performant systems - Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments using Docker - Collaborate with frontend, product, and infrastructure teams to ship features end-to-end - Solve complex problems with attention to detail and code quality

Requirements

- Solid experience with Node.js in production environments - Familiarity with relational databases - Experience with message queues such as RabbitMQ or SQS and caching with Redis - Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and containerization with Docker - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Nice to have

- Experience with TypeScript in a production environment - Knowledge of event-driven architecture and CQRS patterns - Familiarity with Shopify APIs or e-commerce integrations - Experience building multi-tenant SaaS applications
