Senior Platform Engineer, MarTech

Role overview

Own and improve the shared marketing technology platforms that power customer journeys, campaign delivery, and data activation. This hands-on engineering role partners with Marketing, Enrollment, Acquisition, Product, and Data teams to turn requests into reliable platform capabilities, integrations, and communication workflows.

Responsibilities

- Configure, support, and continuously improve customer engagement and reverse-ETL platforms, including journey orchestration, templates, and reusable campaign processes. - Coordinate stakeholder intake by clarifying scope, urgency, effort, and timelines, and raise competing priorities when needed. - Maintain integrations among engagement platforms, data warehouses, CRM systems, and mail vendors; protect the accuracy of customer attributes, events, audiences, and reporting. - Implement personalization such as behavioral triggers, templating, and send-time optimization. - Monitor platform reliability, data quality, delivery times, and request turnaround; improve alerts and dashboards and resolve root causes of issues. - Build or support landing pages, APIs, webhooks, automation, communication integrations, and privacy-aware website tracking.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related STEM field, plus at least three years of relevant MarTech, platform operations, or integration experience. - Experience owning production platforms and delivering work with business stakeholders. - Hands-on experience building and operating multi-step customer journeys, including segmentation, event-driven logic, and templating. - SQL skills and understanding of customer data models, data quality, and synchronization across engagement, warehouse, and CRM systems. - Programming ability in Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or a comparable language; experience troubleshooting REST APIs, webhooks, and authentication. - Strong communication skills and ability to translate business requests into technical requirements and manage expectations.

Nice to have

- Experience with full-stack development, Salesforce, Snowflake, communication services, tag management, consent tools, CI/CD, automated testing, or platform monitoring. - Familiarity with email deliverability, sensitive customer data, healthcare technology, or AI-native products.

- Remote role based in the U.S.; applicants must already be authorized to work for any U.S. employer, as visa sponsorship is unavailable. - Listed annual salary range: $145,000–$165,000.
