About this role

Role overview An emerging fraud research role focused on detecting novel fraud trends across voice, messaging, and email channels on a large-scale communications platform. The position combines independent AI-assisted research, large-scale data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to protect customers and network integrity.

Responsibilities - Conduct independent research using AI tools to surface emerging fraud trends and behaviors. - Partner with data scientists to design and refine machine learning models that detect fraud at scale. - Continuously stress test the network for vulnerabilities and systemic abuse. - Analyze massive voice and messaging traffic streams to identify patterns including AIT and ATO fraud. - Develop and execute proactive mitigation strategies to safeguard customers and platform integrity. - Collaborate with data science and engineering teams to tune detection models and reduce false positives. - Lead in-depth investigations into high-impact fraud incidents, producing root cause analysis and recommendations. - Monitor industry developments in fraud and bot detection to maintain a strong defensive posture.

Requirements - 5+ years of experience in fraud investigations, trust and safety, or security analysis within a high-growth tech environment or large-scale distributed systems. - Advanced expertise in complex data analysis, SQL, and data visualization tools for querying large datasets. - Proven track record of designing and executing proactive fraud mitigation strategies. - Strong cross-functional incident response leadership with the ability to communicate complex risks clearly to technical and executive audiences.

Nice to have - Experience in CPaaS, telecommunications, or payments industries. - Familiarity with machine learning concepts applied to fraud detection. - Relevant certifications such as CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) or CISSP.
