Data Scientist

Role overview A data scientist role focused on applying machine learning and statistical analysis to improve user experiences on a large-scale free streaming platform. The position partners closely with ML engineers and cross-functional teams to translate behavioral data into recommendations, experiments, and product improvements for both new and returning audiences.

Responsibilities - Apply machine learning and AI techniques to large datasets, identifying opportunities to improve experiences for new and returning users - Lead a diverse portfolio of data projects that deliver actionable insights and inform product and business strategy - Partner with the machine learning team to refine recommendation models and elevate personalization quality - Plan, monitor, and analyze controlled experiments, including A/B tests, from design through graduation decisions - Build data pipelines, analytical tools, and dashboards in collaboration with engineering and product teams - Apply statistical rigor, metric alignment, and transparency to decision-making processes

Requirements - Doctorate degree, or foreign equivalent, in Psychology or a closely related field - A minimum of one year of experience in data science, analytics, or a related occupation - Hands-on experience with product analytics and event-level behavioral data - Proficiency with SQL, Python, and Spark for data manipulation and large-scale analysis - Ability to present complex findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders and executives - Demonstrated skill in designing experiments and applying causal inference to business or product problems

Nice to have - Track record of building clear, effective data visualizations and dashboards for product and business audiences
