Senior Full-Stack Engineer - FULLY REMOTE (UK / EU)
Job details
About this role
Role overview
Join a fast-growing, profitable cybersecurity training platform as a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, helping scale learning experiences for millions of individual users and enterprise customers worldwide. The role sits within a small, cross-functional squad (engineers, product manager, designer) operating with high autonomy and shipping cadence, where every contribution reaches real users in production from day one. The position is fully remote for candidates based in the UK or approved EU regions, with strong overlap expected during UK business hours.
Responsibilities
- Drive ambiguous, loosely defined product problems end-to-end, from concept through design, implementation, and production deployment. - Design and build scalable, reliable, and secure RESTful APIs alongside modern frontend interfaces. - Depending on squad placement, develop enterprise-grade B2B tooling (SSO, RBAC, licensing, custom syllabus mapping, skill analytics) or shape consumer learning journeys (progression mechanics, leagues, streaks, personalised discovery, A/B experiments). - Contribute to shared platform infrastructure including payment rails, cloud VM delivery, internal support systems, and cross-cutting performance work. - Participate actively in code review, testing, and quality ownership for everything that reaches production. - Collaborate within a modern monorepo environment, leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate execution while maintaining engineering rigor.
Requirements
- Significant senior-level experience as a full-stack engineer working across frontend and backend systems. - Strong proficiency with TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, and Express. - Practical experience with relational and document databases, ideally MongoDB and PostgreSQL. - Solid understanding of AWS services (EC2, RDS, Lambda, Amplify) and cloud infrastructure patterns. - Track record of taking products from idea to production with minimal hand-holding and high ownership. - Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-velocity environment that ships hundreds of pull requests per week.
Nice to have
- Background in cybersecurity, edtech, or gamified learning platforms. - Experience with payment integrations (Stripe, Chargebee) or enterprise identity (SSO, RBAC). - Familiarity with A/B testing frameworks and personalisation systems.
Benefits and work setup
- 100% remote within the UK or approved EU regions. - Latest MacBook Pro plus a budget for workspace accessories. - Annual training budget of £2,500 for certifications, courses, and conferences. - Fully paid annual company-wide retreat. - Health insurance provided in regions without universal coverage. - Enhanced maternity and paternity leave. - Pension or 401(k) company contribution options. - Recurring virtual team lunches covered by the company.
