Senior QA Automation Engineer (JavaScript/TypeScript) - HospitalityTech

Role overview

A lean, fast-moving engineering team operating in the hospitality and retail technology space is hiring a Senior QA Automation Engineer to safeguard quality across customer-facing web platforms, transactional systems, and data-driven workflows. The position blends hands-on manual testing with test automation responsibilities, making it well suited to an experienced QA professional who enjoys Agile or Kanban environments and close collaboration with both Engineering and Data teams.

Responsibilities

- Deliver end-to-end QA coverage across the application lifecycle in a high-velocity deployment setting, executing functional, UI, regression, and end-to-end testing for web applications and new releases. - Validate e-commerce and payment-related transactional flows, including third-party gateway integrations and Point of Sale (POS) synchronization and operational workflows. - Partner with Data Engineering colleagues to verify ETL pipelines, backend data flows, and database-level correctness as part of release validation. - Build, maintain, and extend automated test suites using Selenium with JavaScript or TypeScript while performing API testing and troubleshooting data-centric workflows. - Surface quality risks and blockers during release cycles and contribute to ongoing improvements in automation coverage, QA processes, and deployment reliability. - Operate as an adaptable, ownership-minded contributor within a collaborative, lean team structure.

Requirements

- Five or more years of experience in software QA and test automation roles. - Hands-on expertise with Selenium and JavaScript or TypeScript for web automation testing. - Demonstrated experience testing e-commerce platforms, payment workflows, and third-party integrations, including practical work with payment gateways or transactional systems. - Solid understanding of API testing, backend validation, and database verification workflows. - Track record of collaborating closely with Engineering and Data teams in Agile or Kanban environments, with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. - Advanced written and verbal English communication skills.

Nice to have

- Familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or comparable enterprise CMS platforms. - Exposure to ETL pipeline validation, backend data flow testing, or data integrity processes. - Experience with modern JavaScript-based testing tools such as Cypress or Playwright. - Background in startup or lean, high-growth teams and ownership-driven work styles. - Hands-on experience with POS systems or retail and hospitality transactional platforms. - Participation in QA process improvements or automation strategy conversations.
