Job details
About this role
Role overview Investigate financial activity connected to sextortion and child sexual abuse material distribution, combining on-chain and off-chain evidence to support disruption and victim safeguarding. This is a hands-on individual contributor role: you’ll manage cases from referral through actionable outcomes, working with law enforcement, government, financial, and technical partners. The work involves sensitive material and calls for trauma-informed practice and care for personal well-being.
Responsibilities - Manage assigned cases from referral through target development, legal-process responses, and disruption, with normal case review. - Combine open-source intelligence, link analysis, financial tracing, and direct engagement with subjects or sources to identify and attribute actors. - Produce clear, defensible attribution reports and legal-process returns that can withstand partner or court scrutiny. - Map how networks operate, connecting people, infrastructure, and financial activity rather than cataloguing isolated indicators. - Work with legal, engineering, and external partners on leads and referrals; use AI where it improves casework while keeping human judgment in sensitive decisions. - Follow evidence-handling, escalation, mandatory-reporting, and victim-centered protocols, while actively managing exposure and seeking support when needed.
Requirements - Three to five years of relevant investigative or casework experience in areas such as illicit finance, financial crime, cybercrime, trust and safety, all-source intelligence, OSINT, or a comparable law enforcement or intelligence-adjacent field. - Evidence of taking collected information through to a concrete outcome, not only producing research or reports. - Practical collection capability, such as gathering open-web, social, or forum data, or engaging subjects and sources directly. - Experience coordinating investigations with others and completing effective handoffs. - Ability to respond to time-bound requests and deliver useful findings within hours or days when needed. - Genuine interest in and some exposure to child exploitation, sextortion, counterterrorism, serious organized crime, or closely related investigative work.
