Job details
About this role
Role overview
In this forward-deployed engineering role, you’ll work directly with client and internal teams to turn business problems into production software. The work spans discovery, architecture, prototyping, and delivery, with a strong focus on building AI applications and the systems that help them operate reliably. You’ll serve as both a hands-on engineer and a technical partner, helping teams understand the capabilities, limits, and operational needs of their solutions.
Responsibilities
- Learn clients’ workflows, data, systems, goals, and constraints, then turn ambiguous needs into technical plans and working products. - Build AI-enabled applications, APIs, developer tools, data workflows, and full-stack solutions. - Design agent systems, including tools, context, memory, permissions, workflow graphs, human approvals, and recovery behavior. - Prototype ideas, evaluate them with representative tasks and users, and develop promising solutions into secure, scalable products. - Instrument applications to trace decisions, measure quality, and diagnose failures; establish evaluation and monitoring practices. - Integrate with enterprise systems and cloud services, troubleshoot deployment issues, and communicate trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Create reusable engineering patterns and support technical discovery, workshops, and demonstrations when needed.
Requirements
- Experience building and deploying production software; AI or agent-based applications are useful experience. - Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or a similar language used for AI products and developer tools. - Practical understanding of the systems around AI models, including tools, context, permissions, controls, and feedback. - Familiarity with agent loops, workflow orchestration, state machines, or graph-based coordination. - Experience evaluating and observing AI systems, including testing, tracing, monitoring, or human review. - Strong knowledge of APIs, distributed systems, databases, cloud infrastructure, and modern software practices. - Ability to work through ambiguity, collaborate with clients, and explain technical risks and decisions clearly.
