Software Engineer

Role overview

A fully remote, full-time software engineering role at a small, engineering-first AI research and development lab that builds software and automation systems for mid-market and enterprise clients. The team delivers across industries including banking, government, and venture-backed startups, focusing on ambitious, high-stakes projects with tight deadlines. Expect long hours, fast iteration, and significant ownership over both architecture and delivery.

Responsibilities

- Design, build, and ship production-grade MERN stack systems end to end - Architect multi-agent AI workflows covering orchestration, memory management, and tool use - Own DevOps and infrastructure work, including deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and production monitoring - Design scalable APIs, asynchronous data pipelines, and clean service boundaries - Diagnose and resolve production incidents under time pressure - Make and defend key architectural decisions across the stack

Requirements

- Deep proficiency with the MERN stack and TypeScript - Hands-on experience with AI agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or custom orchestration layers - Strong DevOps skills including Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or DigitalOcean) - Track record of shipping real production systems, not just prototypes - Solid systems-thinking fundamentals and comfort owning infrastructure decisions - High stamina, high ownership, and the ability to thrive in a 6-day, 9-hour-plus work week with frequent overtime
