Job details
About this role
Role overview Own the cloud infrastructure that supports a multi-tenant software product, with a focus on reliable deployments, predictable spending, and a manageable on-call burden. The environment runs on Google Cloud and includes application hosting, managed PostgreSQL, content delivery, document and AI services, and scheduled jobs. Infrastructure is defined in Terraform and released through an automated GitHub Actions workflow.
Responsibilities - Maintain and evolve Google Cloud infrastructure for application services, tenant data, frontend delivery, machine-learning workflows, and scheduled tasks. - Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform and support deployments through GitHub Actions and Workload Identity Federation. - Keep release processes reliable and reduce the operational work required to run the platform. - Track and manage cloud costs as customer usage grows. - Assess when higher availability for Cloud SQL or a managed cache service is justified by product needs and cost. - Maintain useful budget alerts and help keep the on-call surface small.
Requirements - Practical experience operating cloud infrastructure, especially on Google Cloud. - Experience managing infrastructure through Terraform or a comparable infrastructure-as-code workflow. - Familiarity with CI/CD deployment pipelines and secure workload identity practices. - Ability to reason about availability, operational burden, and cloud spending as a connected set of trade-offs. - Good judgment in making infrastructure decisions for a growing multi-tenant service.
Nice to have - Experience with Cloud Run, Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL, Cloud CDN, Document AI, Vertex AI, Cloud Scheduler, or Memorystore.
