Role overview This remote leadership role directs a Professional Services Smart Hands team that delivers network deployment, infrastructure refresh, and related deployment services for clients. The position blends people management, technical oversight, and P&L accountability, serving as an escalation layer for critical situations while partnering with pre-sales to scope new engagements.
Responsibilities - Build and lead high-performing technical teams, including hiring, onboarding, training, career development, performance management, and off-boarding. - Monitor and report on team metrics such as utilization, rework rates, timesheet accuracy, and schedule adherence. - Act as a subject matter expert during pre-sales, contributing to level-of-effort (LOE) sizing, scoping, cost estimates, budgets, and pitches. - Oversee P&L, revenue, cost, and contract gross profit for the practice area, minimizing non-billable time and expense. - Manage multiple infrastructure setup and maintenance projects concurrently, holding team leads to accurate operational reporting. - Coach the team on sales performance strategies, run monthly and quarterly executive reviews, and implement operating plans tied to segment goals. - Maintain high customer satisfaction through key-account partnerships.
Requirements - 8+ years in a managed services environment performing or managing network deployments, infrastructure refresh, smart-hands work, or related IT delivery. - 3+ years of leadership experience managing technical staff. - Demonstrated vendor management expertise. - Strong conflict negotiation, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle competing client demands. - Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. - Associate's degree or equivalent experience, plus an ITIL Foundation certification.
