Role overview A principal-level engineering role focused on international expansion for a restaurant technology platform that operates in multiple countries and is actively growing market share. The role leads the development of an AI-powered integration harness that dramatically reduces the effort to connect with key customer software partners, while also providing broader technical leadership across international efforts. It suits an engineer who wants to pioneer new agentic development approaches and have direct, measurable impact on customers worldwide.
Responsibilities - Architect, create, and maintain an AI-driven harness for rapidly integrating and maintaining external partners with internal systems. - Define and drive technical strategy for problems affecting international expansion across multiple regions. - Lead developers, product managers, designers, and user researchers to build a strong technical infrastructure that enables scalable partner integrations. - Mentor engineers across multiple teams through code-pairing and detailed code, architecture, and project reviews. - Champion best practices for development, deployment, and quality lifecycles. - Document solution design, write and review code, test and roll out solutions to production, and iterate based on customer feedback. - Collaborate with UX, Product Management, QA, and partner engineering teams to deliver best-in-class solutions in a fast-moving environment. - Use cutting-edge AI tools to enhance personal and team development velocity and pioneer new approaches to building software.
Requirements - 10 or more years of experience designing, building, and operating highly scalable, mission-critical distributed systems and SaaS products, ideally hosted on AWS. - Proven track record leading complex technical initiatives and delivering robust software architecture from design through production. - Strong enthusiasm for agentic development practices, LLM integration, and modern software paradigms. - Ability to design high-level technical solutions while remaining deeply connected to code-level execution and system performance. - Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas clearly to technical peers and product leadership.
Nice to have - Experience building development harnesses that leverage LLMs or autonomous agents. - Hands-on experience with enterprise integration frameworks such as Apache Camel or event-driven messaging systems like Apache Pulsar. - Background establishing robust CI/CD, testing, and deployment pipelines at scale.
