Role overview A workflow automation platform is hiring a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with strategic enterprise customers and drive transformational adoption of AI-powered automation. The role blends hands-on engineering with customer success, owning the full arc from initial deployment through long-term expansion and value realization.
Responsibilities - Lead end-to-end technical deployment of the platform inside complex enterprise environments, including integrations with existing systems and customer-specific workflow configuration. - Train and enable stakeholders at every level, from hands-on technical users to business leaders and executives. - Identify and develop new use cases by mapping platform capabilities to each customer's business priorities. - Act as the primary technical point of contact, troubleshooting issues, running workshops, and resolving blockers proactively. - Build lasting customer relationships that support retention and growth across teams and business units. - Codify field learnings and feed recurring friction points, unmet needs, and high-value use cases back into engineering, product, and go-to-market teams. - Travel 20 to 40 percent to customer sites to accelerate adoption and deepen in-person trust.
Requirements - 8+ years in a technical, customer-facing role such as solutions engineer, pre-sales engineer, technical consultant, customer success engineer, forward deployed engineer, integration or implementation engineer, or a software engineer with significant customer exposure. - Proven track record of driving adoption and measurable outcomes from complex technical products in enterprise environments. - Strong engineering skills for owning integrations, troubleshooting production issues, and understanding customer infrastructure. - Strong Python skills, ideally complemented by TypeScript, Java, or similar languages. - Production experience with large language models and AI systems, including prompt engineering, agent workflows, and deployment at scale. - High agency with the resourcefulness to find a path forward independently, paired with clear, low-ego communication skills. - Must be based in the Mountain or Pacific time zone and currently authorized to work in the United States.
Nice to have - Prior experience as a founding or early member of a forward deployed or customer engineering team.
Benefits and work setup - Fully remote position based in MST or PST, with 20 to 40 percent travel to customer sites. - Target annual compensation of USD 230,000 to 280,000 OTE, depending on experience and scope.
