Senior Software Engineer - Clinical Platform

Role overview Build and maintain the shared platform behind clinical products, including services for care plans, clinical rules, and patient timelines. The work centers on distributed systems, dependable processing of clinical data, and preserving the reliability and data integrity clinical users need.

Responsibilities - Design platform services for patient timeline aggregation, clinical event processing, and care plan state. - Architect event-driven systems that handle high-volume clinical data feeds with exactly-once processing semantics. - Lead design reviews and help establish coding and testing practices for the platform team. - Define and maintain documented API contracts, including OpenAPI and gRPC interfaces, for product teams. - Take part in on-call coverage, incident response, and post-incident reviews. - Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements - At least six years of backend engineering experience with complex distributed systems. - Proficiency in one or more of TypeScript with Node.js, Go, or Java, and experience with microservices. - Strong understanding of event-driven architecture, CQRS, and eventual consistency tradeoffs. - Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases, Redis or similar caching, and Kafka or other message brokers. - Demonstrated ability to design stable, well-documented APIs used by multiple teams.

Nice to have - Experience building clinical software or working with HL7 FHIR or CDA healthcare data standards. - Familiarity with clinical decision support approaches such as CDS Hooks or CQL. - Experience with multi-tenant SaaS and tenant-level data isolation. - Background in chaos engineering or advanced reliability testing.
