Senior Software Engineer, Design Systems

Role overview A senior frontend engineering role is open on a Design Systems team that owns a multi-platform design system and the tooling that connects design intent to shipped product code. The position focuses on building an AI-assisted, design-to-code pipeline spanning Figma, prototypes, and the production frontend codebase, working closely with designers, Developer Experience, and Frontend Infrastructure partners. It is a small, senior team where the web and AI workflow mandate is greenfield.

Responsibilities - Design and implement AI-assisted workflows using tools such as Claude Code and Figma MCP that move work between Figma, prototypes, and the production frontend. - Pair with product designers on patterns, components, and workflows that turn design into shipped product. - Evolve the design system so it composes cleanly with agentic tooling, including machine-readable documentation and component metadata. - Partner with Developer Experience on AI agent foundations and with Frontend Infrastructure on the web stack to avoid duplication. - Run office hours with engineers and designers, prioritize feedback, and ship high-impact improvements to the design-to-production flow. - Prototype emerging AI development tooling and recommend what to adopt and scale.

Requirements - Six or more years of industry experience in software engineering with demonstrated frontend production work and systems-level instincts. - Deep hands-on fluency with TypeScript, React, and the surrounding build, test, and deploy toolchain. - Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex, plus opinions on where they help and how to scale them. - A track record of building internal tools or infrastructure that other engineers or non-engineers actually adopted, including onboarding, documentation, and feedback loops. - Strong cross-functional collaboration instincts, comfortable working with designers, PMs, and partner engineering teams as primary users. - Design system experience is welcome but not required; frontend engineering and AI tooling fluency are the core skills.

Nice to have - Background contributing to or owning a shared design system used across web and mobile platforms. - Experience with prototyping platforms that bring designers, PMs, and engineers together. - Familiarity with agentic tooling, MCP integrations, or machine-readable component metadata.
