Director- Design Systems, Operations and Bank Design

Role overview Lead the design system, design operations, and mobile banking design capabilities for a large digital product organization. Set the strategy and operating practices that help teams deliver consistent, accessible client and advisor experiences across web and mobile, while building design’s influence and impact across the business.

Responsibilities - Set the enterprise design system’s strategy, governance, standards, tooling, and adoption roadmap. - Lead design operations and a bank product design team, managing and coaching managers and developing a high-performing organization. - Establish mobile design standards and bring patterns, components, and accessibility practices into the shared design system. - Partner with product and engineering leaders to align experiences across channels, platforms, and customer groups. - Improve design workflows, including assessing and integrating AI tools and practices. - Use research, storytelling, and cross-functional leadership to identify opportunities, guide decisions, and connect design strategy with business priorities.

Requirements - Experience leading design teams and managing managers, with a record of recruiting, developing, and retaining talent. - Experience setting design strategy, governance, operating practices, and organizational direction across multiple workstreams. - Ability to partner with senior product and engineering stakeholders and influence company-wide decisions. - Strong communication and storytelling skills, including the ability to connect strategic goals to practical execution. - Experience with talent planning, including hiring, professional development, headcount planning, and budget needs.

Nice to have - Strategic design thinking and ability to shape organization-wide design strategy. - Experience in diversified financial services or a scaled product operating model.
