Software Engineer: Infrastructure

Role overview Own the reliability, security, and performance of infrastructure used by product engineering teams. The platform runs in a regulated healthcare environment and handles sensitive data, so the role calls for resilient, observable systems and careful operational judgment.

Responsibilities - Monitor and improve infrastructure health, performance, and reliability across the stack. - Make architectural decisions and refine how systems are built and operated. - Design and evolve infrastructure as code with Terraform. - Improve CI/CD, deployment processes, and developer workflows. - Strengthen security practices for access controls, vulnerabilities, and dependencies. - Find and reduce reliability risks before they affect customers.

Requirements - Experience operating production infrastructure, platform, DevOps, or SRE systems. - A record of owning critical systems end to end. - Strong production experience with PostgreSQL or a comparable relational database. - Experience managing infrastructure as code with Terraform. - Good judgment across reliability, performance, and security tradeoffs. - An inclination to automate work and improve developer productivity.

Nice to have - Experience in HIPAA or SOC 2 environments. - PostgreSQL performance tuning or replication management. - Experience building internal developer tools or improving incident response, observability, or security.

Tools and tech stack The environment includes Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Terraform, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD tooling. Experience with every listed tool is not required; the role calls for responsible operation of systems in a regulated setting.
