SAP Principal Delivery Architect
Job details
About this role
Role overview A software company building an AI-native platform for enterprise transformation is hiring a Principal Delivery Architect to own solution direction across several concurrent SAP customer engagements. The work starts in SAP but is expected to broaden across ERP, CRM, HCM, and SCM landscapes as the platform grows. The role is roughly one-third ahead-of-delivery (pre-sales shaping and product feedback), one-third cross-engagement solution leadership, one-quarter customer adoption, and one-tenth engagement shaping and team sizing. It is not a consulting bench role and not a single-project role; the person hired will hold a portfolio.
Responsibilities - Own the functional and architectural direction across several concurrent engagements, including the trade-offs between what a customer asked for and what will actually create value. - Orchestrate functional, technical, and data workstreams and hold the whole picture when nobody else does. - Translate customer business outcomes into a solution shape the platform can deliver, and be explicit early when it cannot. - Agree on written, measurable value targets with each customer before execution begins. - Join early customer and partner conversations to shape opportunities and feed field insight back to Product. - Drive platform adoption as a deliverable, retire workarounds, and build customer-side advocates. - Decide what each engagement team needs, staff on evidence, and call out when programs are over- or under-resourced.
Requirements - 12+ years in enterprise transformation with an SAP foundation, spanning several process areas rather than depth in one. - Demonstrated ownership of solutioning through enterprise sales cycles with a record of shaped opportunities that converted and delivered. - Proven ability to orchestrate delivery teams across functional, technical, and data workstreams on multiple engagements simultaneously. - Senior client-facing presence, including the ability to push back on a customer while preserving the relationship. - Evidence of driving adoption beyond go-live, not just successful cutover. - Solid technical architecture knowledge across integration patterns, data architecture, and SAP landscapes. - Confidence to tell a program it is over-staffed, backed by data. - Ability to learn a new platform quickly and reach real fluency within the first months. - Strong written and spoken business English, with comfort presenting to both business and technical audiences. - Experience operating in a distributed delivery model with structured overlap to US-based stakeholders and strong asynchronous communication. - Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have - Experience across more than one enterprise suite, such as ERP, CRM, HCM, or SCM. - Experience with multiple SAP S/4HANA transition paths including Greenfield, Brownfield, and Selective Data Transition. - Prior partnership with AI, automation, or RPA tooling inside enterprise delivery. - Pre-sales or solution advisory experience alongside a delivery track record. - SAP Activate methodology experience across multiple full-lifecycle S/4HANA programs. - Portuguese or Spanish language skills; German is a plus.
Benefits and work setup - Portfolio-based, customer-facing delivery architect role that is partially ahead of delivery and partially inside active engagements. - Distributed delivery model with a structured daily overlap window for US-based collaboration and strong asynchronous communication norms. - Expected first-year milestones include platform fluency by month 3, value targets and adoption metrics tracked on every engagement by month 6, and evidence-based team sizing and product influence by month 12.
