Job details
About this role
Role overview As a Software Engineer focused on edge infrastructure, you will build backend services for a serverless platform, its function deployment pipeline, and a global control plane. The work spans APIs and resource lifecycles through to operational workflows that manage workloads across edge locations. You will also help make the platform predictable and easy for developers to use, while supporting the reliability of the services you build.
Responsibilities - Design and develop Go services for the platform control plane and deployment pipeline. - Build customer-facing APIs and backend systems that create, update, and manage deployed resources. - Improve developer experience through a usable command-line interface, consistent behavior, and actionable errors. - Implement reliable deployment, configuration, storage, and observability workflows, including retries and failure recovery across services and data centers. - Work with Kubernetes-based runtime infrastructure and investigate performance, latency, and availability problems. - Create operational tooling and take part in on-call support for owned systems.
Requirements - Two to five years of professional backend software development experience. - Proficiency in Go, or strong experience in Rust, Java, or C++ and willingness to use Go day to day. - Understanding of distributed systems, including production troubleshooting, retries, partial failures, and idempotency. - Experience designing APIs and resource models for other engineers to use. - Relational database experience, including schema design, transactions, and migrations. - Experience with asynchronous patterns such as queues, background jobs, or state machines. - Working knowledge of Kubernetes and experience operating highly available services, including on-call work.
Nice to have - Background in developer platforms, tools, control planes, or runtimes. - Experience with Kubernetes controllers, operators, or deployment systems; serverless or edge computing; containers; or multi-region operations.
