Responsibilities - Architect and evolve a reliable Android advertising layer that other app teams can use. - Deliver display, native, and video ad formats that fit naturally into app experiences. - Build privacy and consent requirements into ad systems in partnership with legal and privacy colleagues. - Improve app performance, rendering quality, modularization, and build health. - Work with advertising, product, design, and data partners to define priorities and assess revenue and engagement outcomes. - Lead technical initiatives through design proposals and implementation, mentor engineers, and align Android practices with iOS colleagues.
Requirements - Extensive experience shipping Kotlin Android applications at scale, with staff-level or equivalent technical leadership. - Deep practical experience with Google Ad Manager on Android, including custom native formats, targeting, ad lifecycle, refresh, and delivery troubleshooting. - Experience with ad measurement and verification tools or standards, such as DoubleVerify, IAS, or Open Measurement, including viewability. - Strong modern Android skills, including Jetpack Compose, Coroutines or Flow, Hilt, and multi-module apps. - A track record of designing systems from the ground up and leading their launch across teams.
Nice to have - Video advertising experience, including Google IMA SDK with ExoPlayer or Media3, or comparable tooling. - Work with advertising in live streams, such as server-side ad insertion or Amazon IVS. - Experience with family or youth products and COPPA considerations. - Bluetooth Low Energy integrations or subscription systems such as Play Billing.
Benefits and work setup - Fully remote role for permanent US residents; hiring is limited in some states, and collaboration spans time zones. - Unlimited paid time off, paid parental leave, and full premium coverage of medical, dental, and vision plans for employees and families. - 401(k), an annual learning and development stipend, home office support, and monthly health and wellness reimbursement. - Travel for company meetings and team events.
