Job details
About this role
Role overview This is a backend-focused software engineering role on a team building a unified data layer for income and employment verification used by lenders, proptechs, and other financial services businesses. The platform replaces slow, manual document collection with real-time, verifiable affordability and identity data delivered through APIs and SDKs. The position is fully remote within Europe and is part of a recently funded effort to scale a fintech infrastructure product.
Responsibilities - Design, build, and operate backend services and REST APIs that power real-time income and employment verification. - Develop cloud-based services that orchestrate data connections across multiple verification providers and government sources. - Contribute to systems that deliver affordability data for personal lending, mortgage, tenant screening, and background check use cases. - Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and applied ML teammates to integrate emerging capabilities such as large language models. - Help shape engineering practices as the team scales following a recent funding round.
Requirements - Strong software engineering experience, preferably with Kotlin/Java or Python in production systems. - Solid working knowledge of cloud-based environments and REST API development. - General-purpose programming experience in Go, Rust, JS/ES6, C/C++, or C# is welcome if paired with a strong willingness to learn Kotlin/Java or Python. - Creative, curious problem-solver who thrives in a fast-growing technology company. - Interest in how the broader organization is evolving, not just the immediate team's deliverables.
Nice to have - Hands-on exposure to large language models or applied AI inside production systems. - Experience with fintech infrastructure, identity verification, or data orchestration platforms.
Benefits and work setup - Competitive salary plus meaningful stock options. - 25 days of annual leave plus public holidays. - Flexible, remote-first working based in Europe. - Regular team off-sites and challenging work on real infrastructure impact.
