Quality Assurance Consultant - API

Role overview Help protect the quality and reliability of an online payment platform through API-focused testing. The role covers understanding requirements and API behavior, running functional, regression, integration, and stress tests, and working with developers to investigate defects and improve test coverage.

Responsibilities - Review project requirements and functional specifications with developers, and use them to design and execute test cases. - Test API requests and responses, and conduct functional, regression, and integration testing. - Run stress tests on APIs using automated tools. - Reproduce and isolate issues with developers, document findings clearly, and track defects through resolution. - Help maintain automated test scripts and frameworks, and provide quality and testability feedback in code reviews. - Keep testing practices current and contribute to other quality tasks as the role develops.

Requirements - Four or more years of relevant experience in financial services, fintech, or a high-growth startup. - A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline. - Solid knowledge of software testing principles and experience with manual testing methods and tools. - Familiarity with defect tracking and version control systems. - Strong English communication, problem-solving, organization, and time-management skills; able to collaborate, participate in meetings, and ask clear questions. - Ability to build working relationships and understand the needs of clients, merchants, and other stakeholders.

Nice to have - Basic programming knowledge in Python, Java, or a similar language. - Arabic language ability.
