Backend Development Expert

Role overview This senior backend role designs and develops reliable, scalable services and APIs for transaction-focused products. You will shape architecture and engineering standards, support less experienced developers, and work with product, business, and DevOps colleagues to turn financial workflows into secure production systems.

Responsibilities - Design, build, and evolve backend services and microservice-based systems with high availability and scalability in mind. - Translate product and financial domain requirements into technical designs in partnership with product, business, and frontend teams. - Contribute to architecture decisions, review code, and uphold consistent engineering standards. - Mentor junior and mid-level developers and provide technical guidance. - Identify and address performance constraints, scaling issues, and security vulnerabilities. - Work with DevOps to improve deployments and production reliability, while evaluating relevant technologies.

Requirements - At least five years of backend development experience with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture. - Strong understanding of payment and banking concepts, including acquirers, issuers, settlement, payouts, and transaction cycles. - Proficiency with PostgreSQL and MongoDB, including data modeling, indexing, and performance tuning. - Experience with a major cloud platform and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. - Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills. - Background in banking, fintech, or another regulated financial environment, with awareness of compliance requirements.

Nice to have - Familiarity with Kafka or RabbitMQ, Redis, and financial protocols or controls such as ISO 8583, PCI DSS, tokenization, and KYC/AML. - Understanding of chargebacks, reconciliation, and clearing processes.
