Role overview A senior engineering position leading a software team that builds features powering an online therapy platform serving millions of users. The role blends hands-on coding with technical leadership, driving delivery of production-ready features while mentoring engineers and partnering with product and business stakeholders. It is a remote position aligned to Eastern Time hours.
Responsibilities
- Plan and break down large initiatives, delegating work across the engineering team and tracking execution through to release.
- Review pull requests rigorously, enforce coding standards, and ship complex features to QA with minimal defects.
- Write production code in at least one core area (backend, frontend, or DevOps) and stay current on industry trends.
- Mentor junior engineers through pairing, code review, and regular one-on-ones, and contribute to hiring and onboarding.
- Monitor system health, oversee updates, and drive continuous improvements to code quality and QA practices.
- Communicate technical decisions through design docs and documentation, surface risks early, and align engineering with product and business teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- 6+ years of professional experience with React and Node.js.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience overall.
- 3+ years collaborating with cross-functional subject matter experts and contributing to team success.
- Strong technical depth in at least one discipline (backend, frontend, or DevOps) with the ability to provide architectural guidance.
- Demonstrated leadership experience guiding feature delivery, reviewing code, and unblocking teammates.

- Base salary range of $150,000 to $183,000, calibrated to experience and assessed skills.
