Senior Software Engineer (Platform team)

Role overview

Senior Software Engineer joining a platform team responsible for foundational identity and account capabilities used across a cloud-focused product. The role combines backend design, distributed systems engineering, operational ownership, and collaboration with product and engineering partners to deliver secure, reliable services at scale.

Responsibilities

- Design, build, and operate authentication, authorization, and user or team directory services. - Develop scalable, highly available, performant platform services consumed by multiple engineering teams. - Maintain cross-product capabilities such as workflow automation, analytics systems, and ticketing integrations. - Improve the onboarding experience for connecting AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI accounts, partnering with Product, Frontend, Design, and Quality Engineering. - Participate in an on-call rotation and help resolve urgent production issues.

Requirements

- At least five years of professional software engineering experience delivering distributed, highly available services. - Strong proficiency in Go or Java. - Practical experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database and a messaging system such as NATS. - Experience building SaaS applications and delivering substantial software projects end to end. - Ability to prioritize and switch between high-impact work in a distributed, remote-first environment. - Familiarity with AI coding agents and a willingness to use them thoughtfully to improve development workflows.
