Role overview An AI/ML Engineer role embedded in an advisory practice that delivers applied AI solutions to a wide range of client organizations. The work emphasizes production-grade systems over research novelty, with engineers owning projects end-to-end from discovery through deployment. The position offers significant variety, spanning healthcare, SaaS, enterprise, and other industries, and requires both strong technical depth and consulting-style communication with non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities - Architect and build production AI systems including retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, multi-agent architectures, and LLM-powered automation - Work directly with clients to understand business problems, design solutions, and deliver measurable outcomes - Set up LLM observability, evaluation, and reliability infrastructure for production deployments - Context-switch across multiple projects and industries, learning new domains quickly - Translate complex technical concepts into business value for non-technical stakeholders - Maintain high engineering standards to ensure systems work in production, not only in demos
Requirements - Strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience shipping LLM-based systems - Experience with the full AI stack including retrieval, embeddings, orchestration, and evaluation - Demonstrated ability to build production systems with attention to reliability, latency, and cost - Comfort working directly with clients and communicating technical decisions to varied audiences - Ability to context-switch between projects and pick up new problem domains efficiently - Pride in craftsmanship and building systems that genuinely work at scale
Nice to have - Experience with AI observability, evaluation, and monitoring tooling - Background in consulting, advisory, or client-facing engineering roles - Conference speaking or technical writing experience
