Data API Engineer

Role overview Help develop a PostgreSQL-backed data API by improving its database driver, performance, reliability, and feature set. This role combines open-source software development with incident response and cross-team troubleshooting for a service designed to support multiple tenants.

Responsibilities - Improve the PostgreSQL driver and remove performance bottlenecks. - Develop features and fix bugs in the data API, supporting its evolution toward multitenant use. - Investigate incidents and escalated support cases, then improve observability and performance based on what is learned. - Work with other engineering teams to diagnose and resolve integration problems across the platform. - Engage with open-source development and help strengthen the project through practical improvements.

Requirements - At least three years of strong Haskell development experience. - Experience using C. - Solid knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL procedural scripting. - Experience contributing to open-source projects; project maintenance experience is beneficial. - Strong technical support skills, including explaining issues to users with different levels of technical expertise. - Experience debugging applications on Linux.
