Sr Data Engineer | Databricks Experience

Role overview This senior role centers on guiding customers through their data journey by designing, building, and operationalizing scalable data solutions that fuel artificial intelligence, machine learning, and business intelligence outcomes. The position blends hands-on engineering with consulting, partnering with multiple client accounts to translate business goals into well-architected pipelines, robust consumption layers, and trustworthy analytical environments.

Responsibilities - Design, build, and operationalize complex data solutions across capture, transformation, exploration, and consumption layers - Advise customers on technical decisions and track progress across several concurrent accounts - Apply data cleansing, quality, governance, and security practices to incoming sources and analytical outputs - Analyze candidate data sources and recommend inclusion in downstream analytics and ML workflows - Investigate and resolve defects, incidents, and integration issues of moderate complexity - Collaborate with internal and client teams to enable data product adoption and educate end users

Requirements - 7+ years of experience in data engineering and data product development - 3+ years working in a consulting environment supporting external customers - Strong knowledge of the Databricks platform, including hands-on work with DAB, clustering techniques, and performance optimization - Demonstrated experience with legacy-to-Databricks migration initiatives - Working familiarity with Azure, AWS, or GCP plus CI/CD pipelines and generative AI tooling - Strong SQL and PySpark skills and excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Nice to have - Experience with Databricks Genie and Databricks Apps - A track record of delivering five or more projects on Databricks - Familiarity with additional data platforms and technologies beyond the Databricks ecosystem
