Role overview This Senior Solutions Engineer role supports the ANZ (Australia and New Zealand) accounts team, serving as the primary technical resource during the pre-sales motion. The position blends deep security and observability expertise with commercial engagement, helping prospects turn business problems into well-scoped technical solutions through presentations, hands-on demonstrations, and structured Proof of Value engagements. It is a remote-friendly, customer-facing position ideal for an engineer who enjoys moving between the technical and consultative sides of the sales cycle.
Responsibilities - Partner with account executives and account managers to map customer pain points to a clear value proposition, platform vision, and longer-term strategy - Own the technical close on complex opportunities by combining competitive insight, hands-on credibility, and clear architectural storytelling - Run the technical phases of the sales cycle end to end, including leading Proof of Value evaluations and orchestrating supporting stakeholders - Present to a wide range of audiences, from executives and security leaders down to individual developers and site reliability engineers - Deliver tailored product and technical demonstrations that show the platform's fit for real-world security and observability workloads - Channel customer feedback and field experience into product management and engineering to continuously improve the product
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a closely related discipline; a master's degree is a plus - Four or more years in a customer-facing technical role such as solutions engineer, solutions architect, sales engineer, implementation consultant, support engineer, SRE, or software developer with project leadership experience - Hands-on knowledge of security categories including IDS/IPS, SIEM and log management, network and endpoint security, threat detection, incident response, MSSP/MDR, threat feeds, and CASB - Experience selling into or operating within pure multi-tenant SaaS environments - Working familiarity with at least one major hyperscaler (AWS, GCP, or Azure); a cloud certification is preferred - Broad technical infrastructure foundation across servers, networking devices, and storage, plus strong written and verbal communication and solid business acumen
Nice to have - Experience with open-source telemetry and collection projects such as Telegraf, FluentBit, FluentD, and OpenTelemetry - Familiarity with modern application architectures, including microservices, containers, Kubernetes, Docker, and serverless runtimes like Lambda - Prior use of monitoring or observability tools such as Splunk, Datadog, Elastic, or New Relic - Comfort working in a fast-paced, startup-style environment with a track record at successful startups
