Backend Engineer, Core Technology

Role overview Build and maintain the backend systems that sit at the foundation of the product platform. The role focuses on core services that other engineers and features depend on, requiring careful attention to reliability and performance.

Responsibilities - Design, build, and operate core backend services and APIs - Write production code in a polyglot or primarily typed backend environment - Collaborate with infrastructure and platform teams on shared foundations - Improve the performance, reliability, and observability of central systems - Participate in code review, design review, and incident response - Contribute to technical decisions that shape long-term platform direction

Requirements - Professional experience as a backend or distributed systems engineer - Proficiency with at least one major backend language such as Go, Java, Python, or Ruby - Understanding of API design, data modeling, and service architecture - Comfort working on systems where correctness and uptime are critical - Ability to write clear, maintainable code and thoughtful design documents
